Android Market Now Boasting Over 5,000 Apps

9 Jul
2009

MarketplaceGoogle has recently let it be known that the Android Marketplace has reached the 5,000 applications mark. This is of course, only a small amount compared to the 50,000 iPhone applications – but at least only 24 of the Android apps are “flashlights”. When you think about the incredibly short amount of time these apps have appeared in, and the fact that a staggering majority of them are free, the whole thing just gets even better.

Now it’s all just a matter of catch-up, as the various Android devices are released over this year and the user-base grows… so will the Market, faster than ever before.
